I'm feeling really lazy today. Really, most days lately.

The heat and haze makes me sleepy and depleted. I yearn to cool off near an ocean of blue-green rather than rushing from the artificial cool of the air-conditioned car to the prison of my air-conditioned office/home.

As a teenager, I always said I would bring a tape recorder to the beach (someday) to record for infinity the music of the beach: the squealing of children as a wave of cold snaps at their feet; the blend of rap, rock and jazz streaming from a myriad of radios, boom boxes and CD players and how if you listen just right, you can unravel each one like different-colored yarn; tinny giggles; umbrellas flapping to the beat of the wind; bags being zippered open and snapped shut; puncturing long wails uttered from small mouths angry at having to put on more sunscreen or to go home;and the rhythmic swooshing of the waves rushing in to kiss the sand while only moments later ripped asunder, forced to retreat.

I need to get to a beach. Soon.

I am wiggling my toes, and can feel the sand ibetween them, if I think hard enough. The beach would be nice.

Now that I worship the sun, the beach is one of our holy places. But you have to be careful. Basking in the suns glory too long will incur his wrath.

Ahh, my last comment left you speachless as you ponder the thought "is he kidding or does he really worship the sun?"
